The "Steel Industry Development Policy" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2005 has been regarded by the industry as the first truly meaningful steel enterprise policy in China since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and has become an important cornerstone for promoting the healthy development of the steel industry.
